(More customer reviews)After purchasing a new head unit for my truck, I questioned myself about buying this item. I thought it wasn't necessary and who needs chimes anyway. I was dead wrong, So I bought it anyway and I am so glad I did. The adapter plugs right into your stock radio connection, which allows you to easily splice/solder all the appropriate new connections from your new radios harness.
Although the contruction quality is questionable (the speaker case on mine was seperated upon opening) it snapped right back together. The wiring diagram provided is very well thought out and detailed. One thing to consider, I plugged in the speaker harness into my stock wiring and put a voltage meter across the connections to test everything before I spliced the new harness with it.
If the chimes are to loud, the instructions will tell you how to cut a piece on the circuit board inside the speaker unit. After cutting it, the volume was great (my original chime was giving me headaches). Installation was difficult due to tight conditions, I ended up zip-tying the speaker unit behind my radio. Works great, I know when im not wearing my seatbelt without getting migranes.
